Sony has announced it is recalling 440,000 Vaio notebooks due to faulty wiring which could cause overheating. Apparently the wiring connecting the main body with the screen was found to be faulty on several units, causing overheating near the power plug or screen rim, which could potentially lead to distortions on the body. In layman terms, it starts to melt.
Affected the following notebook PC models:
  • VGN-TZ100 series
  • VGN-TZ200 series
  • VGN-TZ300 series
  • VGN-TZ2000 series
